There are two time windows during the year for submitting and making changes to study plans: The first window falls at the beginning of the first semester (September/October); the second is at the beginning of the second semester (February/March).

Consult the detailed rules for submitting the study plan.

We remind you in particular that, during the submission window in the first semester, you can also make changes (additions, removals and variations such as a change of course status from effettivo (core/compulsory) to soprannumero (extra) and vice versa) relating to first and second semester examinations and for each academic year up to the current submission year.

During the second semester window, which is a window for optional changes to the plan submitted in September,you many only:

  1. add or remove courses from the second semester of the academic year of submission;
  2. change the status from effettivo (core/compulsory) to soprannumero (extra) and vice versa, limited to first and second semester courses included in the plan for the current academic year.

For students enrolled in the first semester, please note that the submission of a study plan in the September window (even if only for a change of status from effettivo (core/compulsory) to soprannumero (extra)) requires enrolment in the following academic year. This enrolment may require the payment of tuition fees and the preclusion of admission procedures reserved for students enrolled in a particular academic year. Similar rules apply to  students who enrol in the second semester.

If the plan submitted complies with the model shown in the study programme, it is automatically approved. Students may submit a plan that is not fully compliant for various reasons, including:

  1. the plan includes exams taken in years other than the current year;
  2. the plan includes exams not found in the study programme;
  3. obligations/prohibitions that arise following admission.

In these cases, the plan must be approved by the ‘study plan assessment’ board.

We remind you that the board can only proceed with the assessment of plans after the closure of the time window for plan submission. The assessment typically takes two to three weeks. If a plan cannot be approved, the board will contact the student via email to find an agreed solution. Any changes to the plan are then made by the board.

Finally, we would like to remind you that outgoing Erasmus students are required to draft a plan that complies with all the rules set out above and in any case set out in the educational regulations. These regulations do not apply to incoming Erasmus students unless they are joint-degree students.
